Longhorn Emergency Medical Associates alleged to have failed to pay for all hours worked

MARSHALL – A nurse practitioner has filed a class-action lawsuit over allegations that she was not paid for all hours worked at a hospital emergency room.

Diana Jordan, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on Sept. 13 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Longhorn Emergency Medical Associates PA alleging that the employer willfully violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she regularly worked for more than 40 hours per week without receiving overtime wages at Longview Regional Hospital.

The plaintiff holds Longhorn Emergency Medical Associates PA responsible because the defendant allegedly required employees to perform tasks at the beginning and end of their shifts before clocking in or out and did not pay for this time.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury seeks unpaid wages, liquidated damages, post-judgment interest, attorney’s fees, costs and such other and further relief. She is represented by William S. Hommel Jr. of Hommel Law Firm in Tyler.
