MyOfficeProducts Inc. alleges individual used confidential information without consent

HOUSTON – An office supply company alleges a former employee residing in Harris County misappropriated confidential information.

MyOfficeProducts Inc. filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in the Harris County District Court against Jenis McMillan and Xpress Business Products alleging breach of contract, tortious interference with employment agreement and other counts.

According to the complaint, McMillan joined the plaintiff's business as a sales associate and signed an employment agreement in March 2016. The suit states McMillan used confidential information to advance his interests with Xpress. McMillan was terminated in August, the suit states.

The plaintiff holds McMillan and Express Business Products responsible because McMillan allegedly misappropriated and used plaintiff's trade secret and proprietary information without its permission and consent and Express solicited plaintiff's clients and employees.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and all other relief to which it is entitled. It is represented by S. King and Andrew Vickers of Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis LLP in Austin.
