HOUSTON – A loader alleges improperly stacked pallets at a Harris County warehouse caused him injuries.

Jonas Islas filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in the Harris County District Court against The American Bottling Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 5, 2016, he was severely injured while working as a loader at defendant's Dr. Pepper warehouse when a double-stacked pallet fell and struck him on his back, causing him to fall forward and hit his face on the concrete floor. He alleges he has suffered lost earnings, medical and pharmaceutical expenses and disfigurement.

The plaintiff holds The American Bottling Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a safe working environment and failed to properly manage and train employees.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Brant J. Stogner and Kelly M. Woods of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz in Houston.
