SHERMAN – A New Mexico woman is seeking $5 million in damages over alleged injuries sustained after a surgery.

Annabelle Segovia filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Marsh Lane Surgical Hospital LLC, doing business as Plano Surgical Hospital, Dr. Dirk Rodriguez and Dr. Sona Rajesh Nambiar alleging negligence,

According to the complaint, Rodriguez performed surgeries on the plaintiff at Plano Surgical Hospital on March 3, 2016, and the following day. She was discharged on March 4, 2016, according to the complaint.

The suit states that on March 5, she went to the Carlsbad Medical Center emergency room in New Mexico because of pain and was flown back to the Plano Surgical Hospital the following day.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to diagnose her internal bleeding prior to her discharge, discharged her with an internal bleed and failed to recommend and/or perform post-operative lab studies.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages of $5 million, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other relief the court deems appropriate. She is represented by William B. Harrell of William B. Harrell Law Offices in Texarkana and Walter L. Boyaki of Boyaki Law Firm in El Paso.
