Motorist seeks damages after rear-end collision on I-10 in Beaumont

Car accident 23

BEAUMONT – A San Benito man is seeking damages from a Beaumont resident after a collision on Interstate 10 in Beaumont.

Juan Gabriel Galarza filed a complaint on Oct. 18 in the Jefferson County District Court against Sean Davis alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 12, he was driving a motor vehicle traveling east on Interstate 10 when he was struck from behind by the defendant while he was slowing for traffic. He alleges he sustained injuries that caused him to suffer medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds Davis responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to operate his vehicle at a reasonable speed and failed to timely apply brakes to avoid collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of no less than $100,000 and such other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Jane S. Leger of The Ferguson Law Firm LLP in Beaumont.
