SHERMAN – A Richardson man formerly employed as a store manager has filed a class-action lawsuit against an employer over allegations of unpaid overtime wages.

Troy Cunningham, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against The Kitchen Connection LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during his tenure with defendant between January 2009 and February 2015, he regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per workweek without receiving overtime compensation.

The plaintiff holds The Kitchen Connection LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay its employees overtime compensation for any of the hours they worked over 40 in a workweek and failed to keep accurate records.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorneys’ fees and costs and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Alan L. Quiles, Gregg I. Shavitz and Camar R. Jones of Shavitz Law Group PA in Boca Raton, Florida.
