Diversified Consultants Inc. alleged to have harassed consumer with collection calls

Phone 05

HOUSTON – A Pearland man alleges he was harassed with phone calls from a debt collector.

Scotty Trahan filed a complaint on Oct. 26 in the Southern District of Texas against Diversified Consultants Inc. alleging that the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between September 2016 and August 2017, he received calls from defendant on a repetitive and continuous basis seeking to collect an alleged debt. He alleges he instructed the defendant to stop calling but the defendant did not do so. As a result, he claims he was harassed.

The plaintiff holds Diversified Consultants Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly ignored his request to stop calling him and continued to make calls using an automatic telephone dialing system and/or pre-recorded messages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and statutory damages, attorneys’ fees, witness fees and costs and any other relief that is deemed appropriate. He is represented by Amy L. Bennecoff Ginsburg of Kimmel & Silverman PC in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
