HOUSTON – A metal recycling and auto salvage business in Houston is alleged to have failed to pay a former truck driver for his overtime work.
Hugo Viedo Ramirez filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Stor'n Texas Inc. and Souhail Adam alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2009 and Aug. 17, 2017, he regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per week but was not paid overtime pay for the overtime work.
The plaintiff holds Stor'n Texas Inc. and Adam responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime premiums as required by the FLSA at a rate of time-and-one-half of his regular wage rate.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, liquidated damages, interest, attorney’s fees, out-of-pocket expenses and costs and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Charles L. Scalise and Daniel B. Ross of Ross Law Group in Austin.
