HOUSTON – A Harris County man has sued his employer after he sustained burns more than a year ago.

In his lawsuit against Duron Systems, Inc., Gaston Godoy faults the defendant for failing to properly train and supervise hot work at their facilities located at 9110 Taub Rd. in Houston.

Court documents filed on Nov. 17 state the company permitted hot work on a container that had not been cleared of flammable materials, adding the respondent failed to check with a combustible gas detector that the materials had been eliminated.

“As a result of the defendant’s negligence, the plaintiff Gaston Godoy’s face and right arm were burned requiring emergency care,” the original petition says.

Consequently, Godoy seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by attorney Justin Carlisle of the Law Offices of Domingo Garcia, L.L.P. in Houston.
