HOUSTON – A man is seeking more than $200,000 in damages after slipping in butter at a Pasadena movie theater.

Paul Salazar Jr. filed a complaint on Dec. 1, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against CNMK Texas Properties LLC citing premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 13, 2017, he was injured when he slipped and fell on butter that was left on the tile floor at defendant's Cinemark Hollywood Movies 20 in Pasadena. He alleges he sustained injuries and damages resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of quality of life.

The plaintiff holds CNMK Texas Properties LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to ensure that the premises did not present any danger to its invitees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Myles Lenz and David Bernsen of The Bernsen Law Firm in Beaumont.
