HOUSTON – A Laredo man has filed suit against a Houston hotel over allegations his room was infested with bed bugs.

Raymundo Perales filed a complaint on Dec. 11, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against ESA P Portfolio LLC and Extended Stay America Inc. citing premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 10, 2015, he was a guest at defendants' Extended America property. The suit states he was "attacked" by bed bugs during his stay, which resulted in physical injuries and disfigurement for more than one month and emotional distress and mental anguish.

The plaintiff holds ESA P Portfolio LLC and Extended Stay America Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their duty of ordinary care by failing to inspect, warn about or remedy the infestation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants in an amount within the jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Andrew J. McEnaney of McEnaney Law Firm in Houston.
