Houston doctor alleged to have failed to diagnose patient's heart condition

Medical malpractice 03

HOUSTON – Estate representatives allege a Houston doctor failed to diagnose their decedent's cardiovascular disease.

Brooke Stearns Lawson, Brittany Johnson and Candis Stearns, individually and on behalf of the estate of Clyde Stearns, filed a complaint on Dec. 11, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against Medical Clinic of Houston LLP and John Paulsel MD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in December 2015, Clyde Stearns was seen by defendant Paulsel at defendant Medical Clinic's facility with complaints of numbness and tingling in his arm and hand. The plaintiffs allege Paulsel did not refer Clyde Stearns to a specialist. As a result of Paulsel's alleged negligence, Clyde Stearns' cardiovascular disease remained untreated and he died a few months later.

The plaintiffs holds Medical Clinic of Houston LLP and Paulsel responsible because Paulsel alleging failed to properly diagnose their decedent's condition and failed to refer him for appropriate testing.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendants for whatever sums of money they are entitled, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of suit and such other rand further relief. They are represented by Jeff Edwards, Mike Singley, Scott Medlock and David James of Edwards Law in Austin.
