Memorial Hermann Southwest patient seeks damages after fall at hospital

Medical malpractice 06

HOUSTON – A Harris County woman alleges she fell and was injured while leaving a hospital because she was not provided assistance.

Mary Saberi filed a complaint on Dec. 20, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against Memorial Hermann Health System, doing business as Memorial Hermann Southwest alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 6, 2017, she was attempting to leave defendant's hospital after receiving care when she slipped and fell because she was under the influence of drugs administered to her. She alleges she suffered injuries to her body that resulted in necessary medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish and physical impairment.

The plaintiff holds Memorial Hermann Health System responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide assistance to the plaintiff and failed to make the condition reasonably safe.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 and such other and further relief that are lawful and equitable. She is represented by Pejman J. Maadani of Maadani Law PC in Houston.
