HOUSTON – Three workers are seeking more than $1 million after they were injured in a roof collapse at a Houston property.

Jesus "Jesse" Pastran, Amadeo Garza and Alexis Lusk filed a complaint on Dec. 22, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against Lyondell Refining Co. LLC, Houston Refining LP and Lyondell Chemical Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 28, 2016, they were working in a cylindrical building structure at defendants' facility in Houston when the entire roof collapsed on them without warning. They allege they sustained serious injuries that resulted in physical impairment and disfigurement, medical expenses and loss of wages.

The plaintiffs hold Lyondell Refining Co. LLC, Houston Refining LP and Lyondell Chemical Co. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to conduct adequate and necessary inspections of the building and failed to properly maintain the roof.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Michael E. Pierce and James P. Lamey of Pierce Skrabanek PLLC in Houston.
