SHERMAN – A Plano woman alleges a Houston debt collector used misleading representations in its attempt to collect an alleged debt.

Janine Vialpando filed a complaint on Dec. 28, 2017, in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Adams, London & Weiss LLC alleging that the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Texas Debt Collection Act.

According to the complaint, the defendant began contacting the plaintiff in an attempt to collect an alleged debt. The plaintiff alleges the defendant threatened that her nursing license was in jeopardy for the alleged nonpayment. She also alleges the defendant continued to contact her after she provided notice of an attorney.

The plaintiff holds Adams, London & Weiss LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly used false, deceptive and/or misleading representations to collect a debt.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual, statutory and punitive damages, litigation costs, attorney's fees and such other relief that are just and proper. She is represented by Jenny DeFrancisco of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
