Patient seeks $1 million from physician, Moore Foot and Ankle Specialists after developing blood clot after surgery

Medical malpractice 01

HOUSTON – A patient alleges a physician did not take action to address the potential of developing a blood clot after a surgery.

Paula Valenzuela filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the Harris County District Court against Eric Blanson DPM and Moore Foot and Ankle Specialists PA alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Blanson operated on the plaintiff's right peroneal tendon on Sept. 23, 2016. She alleges that as a result of defendants' negligence, she suffered a permanent blood clot from her right hip down to her right ankle and required surgeries.

The plaintiff holds Blanson and Moore Foot and Ankle Specialists PA responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to take any actions to address the potential of her developing a blood clot.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other relief to which she may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by James R. Edwards and Jeffrey R. McCarthy of McCarthy & Edwards PLLC in Houston.
