Woman alleges she was injured because Target failed to warn of liquid on floor

Slip01

HOUSTON – A shopper at a Humble store alleges it failed to warn of liquid on the floor that caused her to fall.

Sylvia Aguirre filed a complaint on Jan. 4 in the Harris County District Court against Target Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 13, 2016, she was shopping at a Target store in Humble and was injured when she slipped and fell in a puddle of clear liquid substance on the floor. She alleges she has suffered pain, mental anguish, physical impairment and medical expenses as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds Target Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect and maintain its premises and failed to place any warning signs around the area of the liquid substance.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she is justly entitled. She is represented by Leena Joseph of Law Offices of Domingo Garcia LLP in Houston.
