United Recovery Systems LP alleged to have wrongfully contacted third parties about purported debt

HOUSTON – A Missouri consumer claims a Houston debt collector unlawfully contacted third parties about an alleged debt.

Liana Moore filed a complaint on Jan. 9 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against United Recovery Systems LP alleging that the debt collection agency violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, an alleged debt owed by the plaintiff was assigned to or purchased by the defendant to collect. The plaintiff alleges that the defendant allegedly wrongfully contacted third parties about her alleged debt in July 2017.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages of $1,000, punitive damages, attorney's fees, costs and such other relief that may be just and proper. She is represented by Jenny DeFrancisco of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
