Driver seeks underinsured/uninsured benefits from Allstate Fire and Casualty Insurance Co.

BEAUMONT – An Orange County man is seeking uninsured/underinsured motorist benefits from his insurance company.

Roger Covington filed a complaint on Jan. 5 in the Jefferson County District Court against Allstate Fire and Casualty Insurance Co. alleging that the licensed insurer failed to perform its contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that n Nov. 21, 2016, he sustained personal injuries in an automobile accident due to a negligence of an underinsured/uninsured driver. He alleges he suffered injuries that resulted in necessary medical expenses, pain and physical impairment. 

At the time of the accident, the suit states he was protected against bodily injuries and property damage under the insurance policy issued by defendant. The plaintiff demanded defendant to pay the claim in accordance with the insurance policy, the suit states.

The plaintiff holds Allstate Fire and Casualty Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to pay reasonable benefits for plaintiff's damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of no more than $75,000 and such other and further relief to which he may show herself justly entitled. He is represented by J. Trenton Bond and Chris Portner of Portner Bond PLLC in Beaumont.
