Woman seeks more than $100,000 from Galleria Place II, others after fall

Slip01

HOUSTON – A woman on her way to her job at the Galleria Place II alleges an oily substance on the floor caused her to fall.

Carol Caraway filed a complaint on Jan. 19 in the Harris County District Court against Galleria Place II, TR Galleria Place Corp. and Lincoln Property Co. Commercial Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 20, 2017, she was injured when she slipped and fell while departing the elevator at defendants' premises. She alleges she stepped on an oily substance that was spilled onto the carpet of the elevator prior to her arrival and transferred to her shoe. She alleges she sustained serious and disabling injuries that resulted in pain and suffering, mental anguish, lost earnings and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Galleria Place II, TR Galleria Place Corp. and Lincoln Property Co. Commercial Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently created and allowed the continued existence of a dangerous condition and by failing to provide adequate warning that such existed.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but less than $200,000 and such other legal and equitable relief. She is represented by Adam P. Criaco of Criaco & Associates in Houston.
