HOUSTON – A Galveston County man alleges he was attacked by a security dog at a Texas City parking lot.

Alejandro Arreguin Jr. filed a complaint on Jan. 10 in the Harris County District Court against Marathon Petroleum Co. LP, Allied Barton Security Services LLC and Houston K-9 Academy LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 11, 2016, he was leaving defendant Marathon's premises when a security guard asked for consent to search his car with a K-9 security dog. The plaintiff alleges he gave his consent and sat in his car as instructed when the dog viciously bit his arm through the driver's side window.

He alleges he sustained serious injury that resulted in pain, mental anguish, permanent scarring and disfigurement, lost wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Marathon Petroleum Co. LP, Allied Barton Security Services LLC and Houston K-9 Academy LLC responsible because the defendants are allegedly liable for the actions of the dog because it was known to be of a vicious and dangerous nature with a propensity towards aggression.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of $100,000 and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Chad Pinkerton and Benjamin Roberts of The Pinkerton Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
