HOUSTON – A Harris County man is seeking more than $200,000 after he was allegedly injured on a job site.

Dennis Cruz filed a complaint on Jan. 25 in the Harris County District Court against Cityside Homes LLC and David Sanchez alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 24, 2017, he was in the scope of his employment with defendant Sanchez working on a property owned and operated by defendant Cityside when he was injured when heavy sheets of hardy plank fell on top of him. He alleges he sustained injuries that resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering, physical impairment and disfigurement and loss of earning capacity.

The plaintiff holds Cityside Homes LLC and Sanchez responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide protective equipment and/or safety gear and adequate staff for the required task and failed to warn him of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other general and special relief. He is represented by Matthew Menter and John Arthur Daspit of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
