HOUSTON – An offshore technician alleges his employer failed to provide a safe work environment and that he was injured after falling while working on a roof.

Stevie Ray Esquivel filed a complaint on Feb. 3 in the Harris County District Court against Advanced Industrial and Marine Services Inc., doing business as AIMS International, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 25, he was ordered to assist two individuals in repairing the roof at defendant's facility and fell through the roof approximately 40 feet to the ground. He alleges he suffered severe and permanent injuries.

The plaintiff holds Advanced Industrial and Marine Services Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide him with fall protection and a safe walking and working surface.

The plaintiff seeks monetary damages of more than $1 million but not more than $10 million and such other relief to which he is justly entitled. He is represented by Chance A. McMillan and David A. Garcia of Garcia McMillan PLLC in Houston.
