HOUSTON – A Harris County woman alleges she fell when exiting her apartment because of an unlit stairwell.

Cassandra Dotson filed a complaint on Feb. 5 in the Harris County District Court against Willmax Capital Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 29, 2017, while she was exiting her second floor apartment at defendant's Lakecrest Village Apartment in Houston, she fell down the stairwell. She alleges the stairwell was fully enclosed and had no lighting.

She alleges she sustained serious and permanent injuries that required extensive medical treatment and was caused to suffer pain and suffering, physical impairment, lost earnings and mental anguish.

The plaintiff holds Willmax Capital Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide and maintain adequate lighting and failed to keep the walkways clear of hazardous obstacles and debris.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but no less than $200,000 and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Ty A. Gibson and Brett M. Hill of Gibson Hill PC in Houston.
