HOUSTON – A bakery worker alleges he was injured while working because he was not provided proper training.

Robert Kemp filed a complaint on Feb. 6 in the Harris County District Court against Flowers Baking Co. of Houston LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 8, 2016, he injured his back while lifting a heavy bag of baking mixture while in the course and scope with his employment with the defendant. He alleges he severely injured his back and that if the defendant had provided him with necessary training or instrumentalities to perform his job safely, he would not have suffered injury.

The plaintiff holds Flowers Baking Co. of Houston LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly train him and provide necessary assistance.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other general and special relief. He is represented by Scott P. Armstrong, Joshua D. Lee and Megan C. Savage of Armstrong Lee Savage LLP in Houston.
