HOUSTON – A former forklift operator asserts he was terminated for filing a workers’ compensation claim.

Roddie Morgan filed a lawsuit against Goodman Manufacturing Co., L.P. in the Harris County 333rd District Court on Feb. 8.

Morgan explains the claim was for an on the job injury he sustained last July, stating his former employer’s actions were retaliatory.

“Goodman would not have discharged or discriminated against the plaintiff but for the workers’ compensation claim filed by the plaintiff, and his involvement in the workers’ compensation claim,” court documents say.

Consequently, Morgan seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Dasean A. Jones of Houston.
