Customer alleges Friendswood contractor failed to do work on project

Contract 05

GALVESTON – A Friendswood contractor is alleged to have failed to perform work on a home.

Emory Harris filed a complaint on Feb. 12 in the Galveston County District Court against John Beam alleging that the contractor violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 7, 2017, he hired defendant to design and build a custom home worth $2 million. The plaintiff alleges he paid $30,000 up front by April 2017, but no work has been completed as promised. The plaintiff alleges the defendant did not refund the money on demand.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages in the amount of $30,000, attorney’s fees, costs, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Deborah L. Crain of Deborah Crain Law PC in Stafford.
