Brown Sugar Braids customer alleges she was injured when employee dropped bucket of hot water

Medical malpractice 08

HOUSTON – A Harris County woman alleges she was injured at a Houston salon by hot water.

Mary Obialo filed a complaint on Feb. 13 in the Harris County District Court against Fateem Enterprises Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 5, 2017, she was at the defendant's business, Brown Sugar Braids, getting her hair braided. She alleges she suffered bodily injury when an employee, who was speaking on a cellular phone, dropped a bucket of heated water on her.

The plaintiff alleges she suffered severe and serious injuries that resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering, physical impairment and disfigurement and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff holds Fateem Enterprises Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to monitor its employees and failed to train them in handling distractions.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by John Arthur Daspit and Arian Hossein Khorrami of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
