HOUSTON – A Houston woman alleges she was not paid overtime compensation as a receptionist at a medical office.

Amber Ramos filed a complaint on Feb. 14 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Rocio Harbison MD PA alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the defendant does business as Advanced Endocrinology and Diabetes Clinic in Houston and the plaintiff was classified as a receptionist/patient coordinator.

The plaintiff holds Rocio Harbison MD PA responsible because the defendant allegedly regularly required her to work more than 40 hours per week but did not compensate her at a rate of time-and-one-half of her regular pay rate for the extra work.

The plaintiff seeks to recover overtime compensation, liquidated damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney’s fees, costs and such relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Joseph K. Jones of Sloan Firm in Houston.
