HOUSTON – A former driver for a waste recycling services company alleges he was not paid the appropriate rate for overtime work.

Rolando Sanchez filed a complaint on Feb. 14 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Permiant Inc. and Mohammed Ahmed alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during his employment with the defendant from May 30 to Nov. 15, 2017, he regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff holds Permiant Inc. and Ahmed responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to act reasonably to comply with overtime provision of the FLSA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid wages, liquidated damages, attorney’s fee and costs, expert fees, mediator fees and out-of-pocket expenses and such other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Charles L. Scalise and Daniel B. Ross of Ross Law Group in Austin.
