Longshoreman alleges Ardmore Shipping failed to keep deck safe for workers

Medical malpractice 01

HOUSTON – A longshoreman alleges he was injured aboard a vessel because the deck was poorly lit.

Edward Kastl filed a complaint on Feb. 15 in the Harris County District Court against Ardmore Shipping (Americas) LLC, et al. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 15, 2017, he was injured while employed by defendant SGS North America working aboard defendants' M.T. Ardmore Seamaster vessel. He alleges he tripped, fell and hit his face on the deck of the vessel, causing serious injuries to his face that resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, disfigurement and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff holds Ardmore Shipping (Americas) LLC, and others responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to make the deck of the vessel safe for their workers.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Jeffrey T. Roebuck of Roebuck, Thomas, Roebuck & Adams in Beaumont.
