GALVESTON – The owners of a Galveston property allege substandard work was used to construct their home.

Robert and Annette Williams filed a complaint on Feb. 16 in the Galveston County District Court against Edifice Holdings Inc., doing business as Homelife Builders, alleging that the general contractor violated the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs claim they informed the defendant of their DTPA claim in December 2017 over the alleged substandard construction on their Galveston home. They allege they allowed the defendant to inspect the home and that in February, it tendered a settlement offer well below the cost to remedy.

The plaintiffs holds Edifice Holdings Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly misrepresented it would properly perform industry standard work on their home.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief of less than $100,000 and all other relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Matthew Chappell of Matthew Chappell Attorney At Law PLLC in Houston.
