HOUSTON – A Willis family is seeking damages from a tractor-trailer driver and his employer over alleged injuries sustained in a collision in Conroe.

Shelby Moore and Stephanie Kellar, individually and on behalf their minor children Caiden Moore, Cendal Moore, and Colton Moore, filed a complaint on Feb. 16 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Harms Farms Trucking Inc. and Jason Wesley Guernsey alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 30, 2017, the plaintiffs and their minor children were in a motor vehicle traveling on Interstate 45 when Guernsey violently struck their vehicle with a 2005 Peterbilt tractor-trailer. The suit states Guernsey was employed by defendant Harms Farms at the time of the collision. They allege they suffered personal injuries and damages.

The plaintiffs hold Harms Farms Trucking Inc. and Guernsey responsible because defendant Guernsey allegedly failed to drive in a single lane and failed to control his speed.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek actual, compensatory and consequential damages; pre- and post-judgment interest; costs of court; and all other just and proper relief. They are represented by John D. Sheppard, Nicholas A. Morrow and Daniel E. Sheppard of Morrow & Sheppard LLP in Houston.
