HOUSTON – A man alleges he was injured at a Harris County location when he stepped into a hole that was hidden by undrained water.

Yesid Ramirez filed a complaint on Feb. 19 in the Harris County District Court against HFOTCO LLC, doing business as Houston Fuel Oil Terminal LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug 14, 2016, he was in the course of his employment with Coastal Gulf & International when he was injured at defendant's premises when he stepped in a hole in the walkway that was hidden by undrained water. He alleges he suffered serious injuries, including a torn knee, which required surgical intervention, pain and suffering, lost earnings, disfigurement and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds HFOTCO LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect the premises to discover the condition and failed to implement adequate drainage.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other general and special relief. He is represented by Dax F. Garza of Dax F. Garza PC in Houston.
