HOUSTON – A seaman alleges he was injured when he fell overboard while working on a vessel.

Christopher McGlothlin filed a complaint on Feb. 20 in the Harris County District Court against Genesis Marine LLC and Genesis Energy LP alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 27, 2016, he sustained multiple injuries while working as a tankerman aboard defendants' vessel. He alleges he was attempting to board the vessel's skiff from the tanker and the tanker shifted, causing him to fall overboard.

The plaintiff holds Genesis Marine LLC and Genesis Energy LP responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly train and supervise their crew, failed to provide sufficient safety equipment and failed to provide immediate and adequate medical attention.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interest, punitive damages and costs of court. He is represented by Michael S. Tilton of Tilton & Tilton LLP in Houston.
