HOUSTON – A former Golden Corral worker claims the restaurant disparaged him to other businesses and ruined his prospects for reemployment.

Curtis Wiggins initiated legal action against the eatery in the Harris County 165th District Court last month. Houston federal court took control of the litigation on Feb. 23.

According to Wiggins, the defendant made statements to the effect it terminated him for cause and he was not considered re-hirable for cause.

The suit counters that the plaintiff was wrongfully terminated, adding he did nothing during the course of his employment to warrant such action.

Wiggins says aside from a loss of employment opportunities, he endured shame, embarrassment, humiliation, and pain and anguish as a result of Golden Corral’s alleged statements.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is representing himself.
