HOUSTON – A Magnolia resident alleges that she is owed unpaid wages from a school district.

Shambree Onibokun filed a complaint on March 2 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant as a school resource police officer from May 4 to Dec. 6, 2017. The suit states the defendant docked time for meal breaks that the plaintiff did not take, and therefore she was not paid for all of the overtime hours she worked. She also alleges the defendant failed to pay her at a rate of time-and-one-half of her regular rate for overtime work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all unpaid wages and overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, expenses and costs and such other and further relief. She is represented by Charles L. Scalise and Daniel B. Ross of Ross Law Group in Austin.
