HOUSTON – A Jefferson County man alleges he was terminated in retaliation after he was injured on the job.

Albert Curtis Como filed a complaint on March 5 in the Harris County District Court against Tristar Global Energy Solutions Inc. alleging violation of the Texas Labor Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was injured as he assisted his boss with unloading plastic berms from a truck and reported the injury. He alleges that on March 28, 2016, he was terminated from his employment with the defendant.

The plaintiff holds Tristar Global Energy Solutions Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly retaliated against him by terminating his employment for commencing a workers' compensation benefits claim or for reporting the injury.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Taylor W. Miller of Reaud, Morgan & Quinn LLP in Beaumont.
