Woman says 2016 slip and fall at Deerbrook Mall food court caused by pastry residue

Slip02

HOUSTON – A Harris County woman’s visit to Deerbrook Mall almost two years ago has resulted in a state district lawsuit alleging a slip and fall.

Janney Narcisse filed the suit against the mall in the Harris County 281st District Court on Mar. 7.

In the 16-page complaint, Narcisse explains she slipped on what was residue from a cinnamon roll in the food court.

After mall security and housekeeping were summoned to the scene, court papers state, the plaintiff overheard a representative of the shopping venue say that the pastry residue “had been previously reported and should have been picked up.”

Narcisse claims the incident left her with injuries that required medical treatment.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by David K. Mestemaker, Norman Straub, Codi D. Kraus, and Jonathan B. Zumwalt of the law firm Mestemaker & Straub in Houston.
