SHERMAN – A consumer alleges he received unwanted solicitation calls from an Austin company attempting to sell him solar energy services.
George Kenneth Schopp, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on March 8 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Green NRG Group Inc. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning on March 21, 2017, he received six marketing solicitation calls from the defendant to his residential telephone without his consent.
The plaintiff holds Green NRG Group Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly initiated solicitation calls to his telephone number, which was listed on the Do Not Call Registry.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $500 for each violation, attorneys’ fees and costs and such other just and equitable relief. He is represented by Chris R. Miltenberger of The Law Office of Chris R. Miltenberger PLLC in Southlake.
