HOUSTON – A Katy woman claims Citation Oil and Gas Corp. terminated her in response to her complaints about what she calls “illegal discrimination.”

Adriana Rigoris initiated legal action against her former employer in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas on Mar. 13.

Citation employed Rigoris as a contractual enhanced oil recovery engineer from Mar. 24, 2010 to Mar. 4, 2017.

Recent court papers allege the plaintiff experienced a hostile work environment because she is an American citizen of Argentine origin.

Rigoris states she speaks accented yet fluent English, with which the company supposedly took issue.

She claims she received a negative annual review and was placed on month-long probation following her complaints about discrimination.

After hiring legal counsel, the suit says, the plaintiff was fired. The defendant reportedly replaced her with a non-Hispanic female.

Consequently, Rigoris seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by Edwin Sullivan of the law firm Oberti Sullivan LLP in Houston.
