Driver, passenger seek damages from city of Houston after city employee struck vehicle

Car accident 29

HOUSTON – Two Harris County residents allege a city of Houston employee's negligence caused a collision.

Lawrence Bayin and Kiaken Sonkarley filed a complaint on March 14 in the Harris County District Court against the city of Houston alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Dec. 11, 2015, they were in a motor vehicle traveling in the 400 block of North Freeway when defendant's employee Kenneth Marshall suddenly struck the rear of their vehicle.

The plaintiffs allege they suffered serious and personal injuries, resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses and disability.

The plaintiffs hold the city of Houston responsible because the defendant's employee allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to control his speed.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek to recover all damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Loren G. Klitsas and Jared W. Capps of Klitsas & Vercher PC in Houston.
