HOUSTON – A spa alleges it has been unable to resume operations since a commercial vehicle struck its building.

Gossip Boutique Spa filed a complaint on March 16 in the Harris County District Court against Matheson Tri-Gas Inc. alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 26, 2017, the defendant's commercial vehicle drove off the road and crashed directly into the plaintiff's place of business. Months after, the plaintiff alleges it still has been unable to resume business operations.

The plaintiff holds Matheson Tri-Gas Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly screen, hire and train its drivers and failed to remove drivers who are unfit to drive a commercial vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $1 million, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other relief to which plaintiff is entitled. It is represented by Anthony G. Buzbee, Andrew Dao and Chase Newsom of The Buzbee Law Firm in Houston.
