Motorist sues Army over collision with sergeant

Car accident 24

HOUSTON – A Texas woman is suing the Army in response to an alleged two-vehicle accident with a sergeant in Conroe almost two years ago, recent Houston federal court records show.

In a lawsuit filed on Mar. 26, Arzandra Jones pins the Apr. 28, 2016 collision in the 2100 block of West Davis Street on Sgt. Renee Alette Vanessa Latham.

Jones says Latham failed to see her as the latter was exiting a private drive and “suddenly and violently” struck her 2010 Ford Flex.

According to recent court documents, Latham was wearing her uniform and was departing from an Army recruiting center in the middle of the afternoon at the time of the accident.

Latham is alleged to have not yield the right-of-way to the plaintiff.

Consequently, Jones seeks at least $2 million, as well as a jury trial.

She is represented by Reginald E. McKamie, Sr. of the Law Offices of Reginald E. McKamie, Sr., P.C. in Houston.
