HOUSTON – A woman alleges a slippery sidewalk at an apartment building caused her to fall.

Paulette Chiasson filed a complaint on April 4 in the Harris County District Court against ERGS II City West REO Owner LLC and D2 Properties LLC, doing business as Providence at Royal Oaks LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 26, 2016, she received personal injuries when she fell on a slippery sidewalk at City West Apartments. She alleges she complained multiple times that the concrete would become slippery when it rained and nothing was done.

The plaintiff holds ERGS II City West REO Owner LLC and D2 Properties LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain the apartment in a safe condition and failed to warn the plaintiff of the hazard.

The plaintiff requests seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million. She is represented by Sofia E. Bruera of Bruera Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
