Oil and gas operator falls through well, alleges Anadarko failed to barricade it

Oildrill 07

HOUSTON – An oil and gas operator alleges he was injured after falling through a well.

Benjamin Chapman filed a complaint on April 4 in the Harris County District Court against Anadarko Petroleum Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov 28, 2016, he was injured when he fell through an oil well at defendant's premises that was not covered or barricaded. He alleges he suffered significant injuries that resulted in diminished earning capacity and medical care and pharmaceutical expenses and costs.

The plaintiff holds Anadarko Petroleum Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly cover and/or barricade the oil well and failed to provide adequate training.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest and costs. He is represented by Sofia E. Bruera of Bruera Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
