Mirand Response System alleged to have continued to call consumer after request to stop

BROWNSVILLE – A Humble consumer alleges a Houston debt collector harassed her with collection calls.

Nina Tyler filed a complaint on April 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas against Mirand Response Systems Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in early 2017, she received repeated and harassing telephone calls to her cellular telephone from defendant attempting to collect an alleged debt. As a result, she alleges she was annoyed, abused and harassed by the calls. 

The plaintiff holds Mirand Response Systems Inc. responsible because despite telling defendant that she could not pay the alleged debt and instructing it to stop calling her, the defendant allegedly continued make calls using an automated telephone dialing system and/or pre-recorded voice.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory, actual and treble damages; attorneys’ fees; costs and such other appropriate relief. She is represented by Amy L. Bennecoff Ginsburg of Kimmel & Silverman PC in Ambler, Pennsylvania.
