Former Hewlett Packard employee alleges age, national origin were factors in termination

Wrongful term 07

HOUSTON – A man formerly employed as an IT business analyst alleges his age and national origin were factors in his termination.

Carlos Gonzalez filed a complaint on April 7 in the Harris County District Court against Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. and HP Inc. citing the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is Hispanic, was born in 1962 and was hired by the defendants in June 2013. The suit states he was terminated in June 2016 and the plaintiff alleges that his termination was due to his age and national origin.

The plaintiff holds Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co. and HP Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly treated him less favorably in the terms and conditions of his employment than similarly situated employees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual, compensatory and punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and such other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by Peter Costea of Law Office of Peter Costea in Houston.
