HOUSTON – A Harris County woman alleges that she was injured at a Houston fast food restaurant because of a broken chair.

Chantle Seymore filed a complaint on April 12 in the Harris County District Court against H.K. Smith Management Inc., McDonald's Corp., et al. alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 16, 2017, she was injured at defendants' McDonald's restaurant when the chair she was sitting on "jerked backwards." She alleges the chair was broken and could not support a person. She claims she suffered severe injuries to her lower back, right hip, ankles shoulders and body in general as a result.

The plaintiff holds H.K. Smith Management Inc., McDonald's Corp., et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly inspect, repair and/or remove the broken chair and failed to adequately warn invitees of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Rodney Merwin in Houston.
