Global Rescue Jets alleged to have submitted false claim to insurer

Medical malpractice 05

HOUSTON – A widow alleges a limited liability company submitted a false and fraudulent claim to an insurer.

Maria Hardie filed a complaint on April 13 in the Harris County District Court against Global Rescue Jets LLC alleging fraudulent conduct.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff and her late husband needed air transport to take her late husband, Lane Hardie, to a hospital in Houston in December 2016. She alleges Global Rescue Jets LLC submitted a Form 1500 claim to Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield and that the claim "was riddled with false information." She alleges the defendant paid $50,000 to Global Rescue Jets and that this amount "is rightly owned in equity and good conscience by Lane Hardie and now, since his death on April 1, 2017, by his estate, as the beneficiary of his Supplemental Plan F policy."

The plaintiff seeks to recover actual damages in the amount of $50,000, exemplary damages, interest, costs and such other lawful and equitable relief. She is represented by Kenneth R. Wynne of Burdine Wynne LLP in Houston.
